December 16th 2007. sometimes songs

so many times songs are there for those who want to look into their own feelings, sadness for example. so happens to me as I listen to "Bene" by Francesco de Gregori, I watch my buried sadness with affection and sympathy-- while the tears accumulate at a higher rate inside, effortlessly -- and so once again, the absent melody enthralls me, words that go around and around things explaining nothing, only scraps for grabs, besides who can tell a whole story? It's a beautiful song. I think song writing is in the making these things generic and general-- everything becomes mine, the mood, the poetry in the bathroom, even the "vietnames face". Especially the vietnamese face. I won't get into that.

hello corpo, how are you?
I don’t remember that De Gregori’s song, but the other sunday I’ve seen Laura Pausini at the Fabio Fazio’s tv show. I thought of you. ciao!

I could be better…

I think there’s someone’s video on youtube with “bene” as a soundtrack, check it out.

Wow, you’ve been gone a long time…you’ve been missed. I seem to recall you complaining about (or despairing of) your silent readers - now I’m technically no longer among them. I love how you write in English - you convey something so raw in some of your posts. I hope we don’t have to wait so long next time…. By the way, according to the New York Times, all of Italy is in a deep depression. For some reason I thought of this blog when I read that.

Great to have you back C. Sorry you’re not so good; I guess that’s why we haven’t heard from you in a while. I hope things improve soon.

Andy: I probably am not that down. I just always have to complain a little.

Isis: (thank you!) Yeah, that article was so obvious to me. I wish I had the time these days– and the spirit –to go into those things like I used to (but then again maybe I don’t really wish for that)

I’m a reader here. You’ve been missed.

When was the article in the NYTimes? How can I find it?

Sorry Corpodibacco, hope you don’t mind my replying to one of my fellow readers on your blog, since I brought it up in the first place and you are gone so much these days :( Vita - Link to the article (from December 13) - http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/13/world/europe/13italy.html?_r=1&oref=slogin (If that doesn’t work, visit the “World” section and you’ll find it.)
The Times in Britain jumped on this a few days later - http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article3085338.ece
